The Edge of Time

The Edge of Time

At the edge of time there was only the Monad and it saw a need for a balance to be stuck. So it created within the abyss a dichotomy: Axis and Maelstrom. And so the Proteans and Axiomites found themselves locked in an eternal battle against each other. However as the Proteans curiously explored the furthest reaches of existence in the abyss they discovered something that even they feared: The Qlippoth.

Protean

The Proteans called for a truce with the forces of law and shared with them what they had discovered. It was at this point that Chaos and Law decided to sacrifice much of there power in order to create beings of sufficient power and guile to stop Rovagug and his Qlippoth. It is from this that that Gods were born. The Gods were beings of tremendous power and were spun from the fabric of Law, Chaos, and Freedom to Choose.

These new gods stood against the greatest of the Qlippoth: Rovagug, and many fell, but the Qlippoth were tireless and there numbers endless. So the Gods hatched to save everything. They would draw on pure positive and negative energy and create a new existence. Thus the material plane was born. Inside this plane they would trap Rovagug forever. With the Qlippoth leaderless and the new mortal souls replenishing the numbers of the divine armies maybe they would have a chance against the Qlippoth. Thus the material plane was created and History as relevant to a mortal began. Rovagug was immediately drawn to destroy this new world, just as the gods had planned. In his gluttonic rage Rovagug let down his guard and was mortally injured by Sarenrea and then imprisoned within the new world by Asmodeous. Rovagug holy symbol
The Gods went about the creation of material world as we know it. Using their own personalities to establish a measurement with which to decern who souls would ultimately belong to. In this invention the current order was set to motion. And the Qlippoth were forced back immeasurably deep into the abyss. Eons have passed, and The Gods have become complacent to bicker amongst themselves, but the Qlippoth are still out there seemingly held in check by the new demonic residents of the abyss. They now represent a severally dimmed but ever present fire, set on the end of all life.
